We are so excited to participate in Sugar Rush by City Beat on August 29 2013. We participated in it last year and had a blast! We don’t get out much. We are in the bakery A LOT and it is always a treat to go to events and meet new people and it is always awesome to see our regular customers come out to support us:) Last year we had a variety of cupcakes and mini cake pops to sample and we got great response! This year we will bring lots of goodies for you to sample and see what we have been up to since last year.
The following information was posted on City Beat’s facebook about the event:
We’ve all heard the phrase, “like a kid in a candy store,” but you don’t have to be a child to indulge in a smorgasbord of sweets. Join us at Artisans Enterprise Center (AEC) at 27 W. Seventh St. Covington, Ky. for Sugar Rush on Thursday, Aug. 29.
You’ll feel like Charlie in the Chocolate Factory (minus that annoying Veruca Salt) as you explore a colorful candy extravaganza. Think Katy Perry’s Candyfornia. Several local sweeteries will sample their best cupcakes, ice cream, donuts, pies, pastries and more. Vendors include Graeters Ice Cream, The BonBonerie, Holtman’s Donuts, Chocolate Pizza Company, Moerlein Lager House, GiGi’s Cupcakes, last year’s winner Cupcake Crazy plus many many more. And since we are adults, enjoy dessert wines, coffee and liquor drinks — all borrowing flavors from favorite confectionery delights.
Guests will text in their vote for their favorite treat of the night — the winner will receive bragging rights and an award to display at their shop for a full year! We will also have a panel of experts handing out special recognitions for the most creative. Tickets are just $10.
Whether you’re a Princess Lolly or more of a Lord Licorice, there will be goodies to satisfy every sweet tooth. A portion of proceeds benefit the Cincinnati Ballet, performing at this event at 6 p.m. & 7 p.m.
Cupcake Crazy makes custom cakes. We are not only obsessed with creating fun cupcakes we love the challenge of creating a cake for special occasions. Be sure to check out our cake gallery and cake menus to see a larger selection of cakes. We first started out just making simple 6 inch cake toppers for wedding cupcake towers and before you know it we started making everything from small cakes to 5 tier wedding cakes. we really love creating specialty cakes tell a story about the person the cake is being created for. For example, one of the cakes above was created for an 80th birthday and the family gave us lots of information about their father and we created this cake special for them. We can also make Gluten Free custom cakes in a large variety of flavors.
Cupcake Crazy creates a cupcake dress for Cincy Chic’s Wearable Art Fashion Show on Friday, July 27, 2013. We have been having a blast creating this super cute dress that will be modeled by Nancy Pottinger! We at Cupcake Crazy love a creative challenge. We spent a lot of time brainstorming on this one. Nancy Pottinger is not only modeling the dress but came up with the structural design.
She spent a lot of time cutting out foam board and balsa wood. She used lots of glue, screws and paint and came up with the basic structure which by the way only fits her! She has a very tiny waste despite working in our bakery everyday:) They picked out cute cupcake wrappers and filled them with expandable foam. They let them dry overnight and then painted their cute cupcakes. They painted the skirt teal and added our pink polka dots. The cupcakes were then attached to the skirt with velcro. The rest is a surprise as we are still working on it. It will be completed on Thursday and ready for the fashion show.
If you want to see it completed you will need to go online and get tickets to the event.

Bechtold Park is the place. The 2013 Festival in Sycamore will feature great national, regional, and local entertainment led by classic rockers the IDES OF MARCH, featuring Jim Peteryk, and rock legend AMERICA. The IDES are most famous for their monster hit “Vehicle”. IDES lead singer Jim Peteryk was not only a founding member of the popular band Survivor, but he also wrote or co-wrote hits for popular southern rockers 38 Special. AMERICA provided the sound track for the 70s and 80s, with hits including “Ventura Highway’, “Horse With No Name”, “I Need You”, “Sister Golden Hair”, “Tin Man”, “Daisy Jane”, “Sandman”, and many others. These two acts, along with some great local and regional bands, promise to make this year’s Festival a memorable one.
Of course, the Festival will also feature fantastic food, drinks, and games, all at a reasonable price. The Festival will once again offer the popular “RIDE FOR FIVE” program, where an individual can buy a bracelet each day for $5.00 and ride every ride all night long!
