Flying Pig Cake Pop visits Smale Riverfront Park

Flying Pig Cake Pop visits Smale Riverfront Park

Today our Flying Pig Cake Pop visits the Smale Riverfront Park in Cincinnati, OH!

Flying Pig Cake Pop

This is one of my most favorite construction projects in all of downtown!  If you haven’t been to our riverfront in the last year,  you will see significant changes.   From the fountains that the kids can play in, the swings overlooking the water, or taking in a craft brew at Morlein Lager House each addition that is made continues to be more significant and magnificent.

This project of writing the blog gave me an opportunity to look at next phases in the development process and it continues to get better.   Each season will only bring us more space and unique features along the beautiful riverfront.  Destined to be an important destination, this is definitely a place to check out!

Flying Pig Cake Pop visits Tarbell Mural Cincinnati, OH

Flying Pig Cake Pop visits Tarbell Mural Cincinnati, OH

Today our Flying Pig Cake Pop visits the iconic mural, “Mr Tarbell Tips his Hat” in Cincinnati, OH!

Flying Pig Cake Pop

So a confession of mine is that I knew I wanted to include this as part of our We Love Cincinnati series!  Not being a native of Cincinnati though,  I knew it was iconic (or at least memorable) but I have to confess that I had no idea why!

So  a little research gave me all the information that I needed to know and also gave me a little bit more Cincinnati history that is both interesting makes me love this town even more!

The mural called “Mr. Tarbell Tips His Hat” is  of the Cincinnati icon Jim Tarbell, once Vice Mayor and arguably Cincinnati’s biggest fan, dressed in the likeness of Peanut Jim welcoming visitors to Cincinnati.

I think for as much as this is an iconic mural in Cincinnati, it is just one of many.  To view the website of Artworks Cincinnati, is to walk through our streets with a different eye!  So many artists and sponsors have literally painted our streets and buildings throughout this city.  There is a map.  Maybe one sunny afternoon, you can print and stroll the various art that is free and on display every single day.   It makes me view our city just a little bit different.

The Flying Pig Cake Pop will visit a different location every day for the next 8 days.  Join with us on Facebook to see where he will go tomorrow.  Flying Pig Cake Pops are a vanilla flavored cake pop with candy surprises inside!  You can find them daily at our Montgomery location.

Cincinnati Museum Center at Union Terminal is home to the Cincinnati History Museum, Duke Energy Children’s Museum, the Museum of Natural History & Science, the Robert D. Linder Family OMNIMAX Theater, and the Cincinnati Historical Society Library.

This is a location that I had to do a little research on because I didn’t know much of it’s history. Originally built in 1933 as the Union Terminal train station, the building is a national historic landmark and was renovated and reopened as Cincinnati Museum Center in 1990.

Because of all the wonderful activities under one roof, it is fun for kids of all ages! To stand in the great hall is breathtaking!  We have done several wedding events here and are mesmorized every time!

Flying Pig Cake Pop Loves Cincinnati Chili

Flying Pig Cake Pop Loves Cincinnati Chili

Today our Flying Pig Cake Pop is forced to admit her LOVE of Skyline Chili!  It is a Cincinnati favorite!

Flying Pig Cake Pop

Unless you are from Cincinnati,  the unique flavor of Cincinnati Chili may be lost on you.  There is just something about my favorite 4-way with beans that can really only be appreciated and loved by those that love Cincinnati.

Clearly our Flying Pig Cake Pop loves her Skyline Chili,  but it wouldn’t be fair to just say that was the only Cincinnati Chili out there.   One of the oldest is Camp Washington (over 70 years of chili making!),  the west side, Price Hill Chili is an iconic west-side landmark.  Blue Ash Chili was featured on Diners, Drive In & Dives and are a personal favorite because you can get a “6-way” with fried jalapenos!

Regardless of where you get your chili,  it has to be called a Cincinnati favorite!

Today our Flying Pig Cake Pop visits Kings Island Amusement Park just north of Cincinnati, OH!

Flying Pig Cake Pop

We couldn’t even get past the closed gates in the middle of winter to even take this picture.  Kings Island makes me so ready for spring and summer.  The roller coasters and water rides are as much a part of summer around here as Reds Baseball.

I don’t think I need to tell you about the beast or the Smurf Ice Cream.   Those are the favorites and it looks like this summer brings us a new roller coaster, The Banshee.  Yes, bring on another summer season!  Cue the lines and we are ready to go.

Flying Pig Cake Pop visits Music Hall, Cincinnati, OH

Flying Pig Cake Pop visits Music Hall, Cincinnati, OH

Today our Flying Pig Cake Pop visits the iconic Music Hall in Cincinnati, OH!

Flying Pig Cake Pop

I don’t think there is anything more beautiful than Music Hall.  The majestic building stands tall with such pride in the Over-the-Rhine neighborhood and right off of the newly rebuilt, Washington Park.

It has both history and continued cultural influence in Cincinnati.   It is the home of the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra and if you didn’t see Luminocity last year, all I have to say is WOW!  If you didn’t love this building before that,  you will now!

Something that I didn’t know before writing this short little blog,  is that there is also a history of paranormal activities that are associated with the building.  Cincy Ghost Hunters offers tours of the building and discusses the past and history of the building and paranormal activity!

The Flying Pig Cake Pop will visit a different location every day for the next 12 days.  Join with us on Facebook to see where he will go tomorrow.  Flying Pig Cake Pops are a vanilla flavored cake pop with candy surprises inside!  You can find them daily at our Montgomery location.

Flying Pig Cake Pop visits Great American Ball Park, Cincinnati, OH

Flying Pig Cake Pop visits Great American Ball Park, Cincinnati, OH

Our Flying Pig Cake Pop visits Great American Ball Park today in Cincinnati, OH!

Great American Ball Park

Is there anything more iconic than Reds Baseball in Cincinnati, OH?  This non-native has to think not!  The first year that I lived here, I had no idea that Opening Day was a virtual holiday and the parade was the cornerstone!    It didn’t take long to understand and appreciate what baseball means to this city and how quickly you grow to love the stadium,  hot dogs, cold beer and an evening game!

Great American Ball Park is the current home to the Cincinnati Reds.  Located downtown and in the now growing Banks District, grabbing dinner and a beer before heading to the game is easy and there are so many options.

I still don’t follow baseball as much as those around me,  but I hear there is always a possibility for a great team this year.  I can’t wait for long summer afternoon games and hopes of a championship season!

Cupcake Crazy Flying Pig Pop

Cupcake Crazy Flying Pig Pop

It’s not too often that we are this excited to announce a new product, but we love our Cupcake Crazy Flying Pig Pops so much that we couldn’t wait to share them with you.cupcake crazy flying pig cake pop

There are a million things to love about Cincinnati!  Whether you are spending a summer night in our thriving downtown or tasting a quintessential flavor of Cincy like Skyline Chili or a favorite flavor of Graeter’s Ice Cream, you can’t help but find something that makes you smile.  Did you see the wonderful article last week in National Geographic?  We were so excited to see our city loved and appreciated.

Lisa Ebbert, owner of Cupcake Crazy in Cincinnati grew up in St. Clairsville, Ohio  and relocated to Cincinnati to raise her children. Her three children were all raised here in Anderson Township. Lauren and Kristen now operate Cupcake Crazy with their mom in their hometown. Their brother, Aaron helps out in his spare time as well.

This year,  when Lauren decided to run the full Flying Pig Marathon with her friends for the first time it sparked our creative juices.  Not only to celebrate Lauren running the race, but celebrating Cincinnati and everything that it has to offer. We were so excited to see our  facebook fans seem to have a deep appreciation for this city too and we were thrilled to see how excited they were for us to share our Cincinnati Flying Pig Pop with them earlier this week!

Thank you so much for making Cupcake Crazy in Cincinnati so much fun.  We love being a part of this community.
